Weekly Thanks!

ThursdayAugust 27, 2015

So this past week I will say was a chill week everything went pretty well, I don't think anything overly exciting really happened.  I would say my thanks from this past week, is just being able to have a peaceful and chill week.  I am thankful for being able to see the entire week,  and come around to see the next.  Also thankful for my fireball toddler, we went to a party on Saturday, as wack as the party was she was just having the greatest time. Dancing, running around and just enjoying life. I think seeing life through her eyes keeps me sane, and being able to appreciate the little things in life that 90% of the time miss.

A little goes a long way

MondayAugust 17, 2015

The other day I took a trip to Walmart to get a few things, and like always I ended up sending a few extra minutes honestly browsing the store and picking up ish that were not even on my initial list (funny how that works out huh) Anyway after my "browsing" I was heading out of the store, and this lady stops me to ask if she could have some change. First thought that crossed my mind was, wow this lady doesn't even look like someone that would be asking for change. Next thought was she don't even look like a crackhead either so why is she outside walmart begging though. Granted my initial thoughts were very much just judging a book by it's cover, I didn't know this woman from anywhere and so I sure as heck didn't know her story. So I automatically said "oh I am sorry, I don't have any cash on me" such a bold face lie knowing good and well I did have some change I could spare. As I walked to my car, did it eat away at my heart. I got to my car, and I immediately dug in my purse, pulled out the little bit of change I did have and went back and handed it to this lady. In that moment walking backing to my car, it made me realize giving that lady that money did nothing to harm me. If anything I had a moment of fulfillment. I realized there are so many homeless people I drive by each day, with some type of sign explaining their situation and honestly 8 out of 10 times I read those signs and throw my face the other way because we live in a society where people who resort to begging are thought of as lazy and have brought that upon themselves. But the reality is we don't know the reason why they ended up in that situation, and honestly if my little dollar bill will do something in their life then I have done my little part. And honestly if these people are being dishonest, my thought process is am I the one to judge or try to figure it out. All I can do, is my little.

Weekly thanks!

August 17, 2015

So I have just accepted that I will be a delay on posting theses weekly thanks lol so please forgive me in advance. Last week was a pretty laid back week, I love the stress free weeks because it means smooth sailing week. Anyway lik usual, I think there are so many things to be thankful for in life but I would say the thing I most thankful from last week is just amazing support system. I had such a wonderful and enlightened conversation with my fiancé (still so crazy to say that), in regard to my future and just how to move forward with life and plans for both of our futures. He had the most supportive and just amazing thing to say "if your heart is not in what you are doing, you will never be happy" I mean clearly this something I already knew, but I think it's especially a blessing knowing the person you will be spending the rest of your life supports your happiness and wants you to not just do something for the money, but for the joy and happiness it will bring out in you. I think at the end of day, the people in your circle will be part of making or breaking you......

Reflecting on 25.....

August 17, 2015

As my 25th year starts to come to a half way point, I have been reflecting majorly and just trying to realign things in my life. I am a big believer in reflecting, and taking time every once in awhile to bring everything to perspective. Look at where things have been, where they are now and where they are going. When I say 25 has been a revealing year, oh lord has it been. It's crazy to think how much has changed, how much I have learnt and just how much I have been through. You know when I first heard the word quarter life crisis, I thought it was so hilarious but I am a true testament to that word man it's too real in my life. But in my opinion and my reflection, I believe the quarter life crisis is only that big hill before the real purpose in my life arrives. You know just over a year ago I moved to Dallas, and even though I only was there for 9months before I ran away I believe that was just the ulitimate set up for taking me into my 25th year. And even though I am only half way through 25, I know that with everything that has come and gone its for the bigger thing to come. So if I had to sum up 25 so far, it's been about growth, learning, building, and most importantly just being a better me.

Weekly thanks!

August 10, 2015

So I am a bit late on posting last weeks thanks, but it's better late than never right. Last week went so fast literally felt like I blinked my eyes and the week was over, but i sure  as hell am not complaining though. All in all I think it was a good week, I would say two major things I was especially thankful for were one having a smooth sailing work week. I had as little hiccups and not as much calls complaining about something, so that in itself was an extreme blessing. Second thing I was thankfulfor, is I think I am getting closer to finding a reception hall for my wedding. Was able to see a location I completely loved, and it fits perfectly the look I have always envisioned in my head, just gotta lock that bad boy up and that is one major step for wedding planing. I am so excited for what this week has in store, what were you all thankful for last week?

Social Media activist

TuesdayAugust 04, 2015

So first off I want to say I am so proud of my generation,  people are using the resources they have as an outlet to promote change,  be about change and being a part of the difference we need so I very much love that. That's not who this post is about.
This post is about the ish starters, the folks that have done no kind of research and know nothing about what they post on social media. This post is for those folks that instead of either just passing on something and keeping it moving,  or simply just hitting the share button they choose to comment on things they know absolutely nothing about.  And by commenting and sharing false info lik this on the Web, they are further promoting some false properganda and educating people on the wrong thing.
it's annoying to see such things because we have enough problems in the world, so to see added fuel promoting wrong information it's not giving us any resolve on the real issues we face.  Like I said earlier,  I am all for using social media to bring issues to the front and create positive, resolving dialogs.  But honestly let's not use social media as another amunitiom and ways to cause more trouble, than fixing the present issues.

Weekly Thanks!

MondayAugust 03, 2015

So last year I moved to Dallas for a lil bit, and honestly I will say that was one of the roughest patches in my life thus far. But during that time I started doing these daily thanks, and ways to keep myself uplifted. So I have decided to bring that onto the blog, I think the best way to keep yourself from being envious and not being carried away by this world and all the social media hype is remembering your own blessings, and all the greatness we get blind to. So stay tuned, and hopefully I can inspire someone out there!

FridayJuly 31, 2015

I noticed a new trend the other day while doing my usual Instagram surfing, and that is how much of an envious generation we are lol. What I mean by that is, we are infatuated by people's lives on social media. I will be the first to say, I am also part of this list of people. Back to my story, so while surfing one of my followers page, I came across a very cute picture of she and her boo being the nosey person I am I started reading the comments and I ran across a comment that simply read #relationshipgoals, I was so confused when I saw that. Main reason one, I wasn't too sure what was the goal here, was it to have a cute picture such as this beautiful couple, or was it to to be this exact couple, but honestly I didn't get it. So it got me thinking, why is our generation so highly envious though. Why is a cute family picture of The Carter's (Beyoncé, Jay-z, and Blue Ivy) automatically what we are all striving for. Don't get me wrong they are a beautiful family, but if anything that the infamous elevator video taught me, is all that glitters isn't gold. I am not saying all these beautiful couples or families that post pictures of themselves on social media are just putting on a show for us, all I am saying is we don't know the behind the scenes. All we see is that beautiful minute on Instagram, but outside of that we all don't know their lives. So I think before we all start working towards those instagram goals, let's be real with ourselves and sort out our real life goals. The show on stage is always going to be better than the chaos backstage.

Trust for me is one of those things that is so senstive and very much needed in any relationship I will be having with you, and if that trust is broken best believe it's very very hard to regain. I will be the first to say openly yes I have very bad trust issues (I am trying to work on it) but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt before just categorizing them though. I think that is fair though, I mean I don't just go around jumping the gun or labeling people before giving them a fair chance. The other day during my deep bathroom thought session (yup I do my best thinking and figuring out in the royal bath tub haha) I did get to thinking is having trust issues a flaw? do you ever truly get over your trust issue? And really why do we have trust issues as humans? I mean you can't help the fact that some jack hole did you wrong, cause honestly some people just can't help it lets be  real. But, why do we hold on to it so strongly that it literally becomes the way we choose the people we do give a chance to be friends with, date or just even associate with? I honestly don't know the answer to these questions but, it makes me wonder though. If any one of you have dealt with trust issues, I would really love to know how you dealt with it, have you been able to overcome it and how? Please share!

Easier said, than done......

TuesdayJune 02, 2015

I think as humans it's always so easy to have comments on other people's lives, whether it be good or bad we just always feel like we can say something on other's lives just because we are on the outside looking in and feel we are experts at it. I always think it's funny when I go to Kim Kardashian ' s instagram page, and read the comments people post on her pictures.  Granted Kim is probably a very far fetched example,  but it comes down to everyone thinking they do know her life, but really you only know what you see and what you have formulated in your own head. This specifically applies with relationships,  I know for myself it's very easy to give my friends relationship advice and tell them what to do because I am on the outside looking in and my information is very biased or one sided because I am speaking based on what I have heard (mostly from my friend) not the entire story and both sides. People tell us and let us into what they want us to know, and so when you want to judge or put your two cents into a topic I think it's something to remember that when you are on the outside looking in, it's very easy to Comment and judge but at the end of the day you are not in that relationship,  you are not living that person's life and you definitely haven't walked a day in their shoes so you can't speak on it.

Keeping up with the 'gram

SaturdayApril 11, 2015

It's crazy to think how much society has changed in probably the last 5years. Everything has become so social media influenced,  and if you are not showing and living the flashiest ways on Facebook or instagram then you obviously are not doing anything right. The other day, I spent almost 2 hours just chilling on instagram and checking out the page of people that I didn't even know. The sad part of it all is, I sat there comparing what I was doing wrong. Why wasn't I able to go on vacation every month? why aren't I rocking the latest loubs? then it dawned on me my season is different from others.  It's so sad to think our biggest motivation is how many likes we are getting on instagram,  we thrive so much on the fact that if people don't like our pictures then something is wrong with it. But the reality is you don't know what that person had to do to get those red bottoms, or how they afford to go on vacation every month.  At the end of the day, I am healthy, I have food on my table, I have a stable job and I have family and friends that love me and support me. Yes I don't have the biggest house on the block,  or the biggest car. But I would much rather be content with my blessings coming in through the right door, than forcing doors to open that don't have my name on it.

I like you, but.......

ThursdayApril 02, 2015

Have you ever liked a guy, you guys have been hanging out for some months or years, so you hit that point when your mind starts thinking like "oh ok I like him a lot, and he seems to like me too. I mean we talk all day long, we always hang out so he must be ready for the next step". So you being that bold chick you are, you decide to bring it up and profess your love or like. But then you get one of these, "I really do like you, but......."  Wait hold up, but what? Ya I know most people have dealt with this, and the sad part we get that but, and that just continue hanging with this person hoping that but is temporary that's me presently. I feel like my biggest issue is believing and knowing I deserve way more than a "but". I don't know about anyone else out there, but to me settling for a but is more comforting, than going out there putting myself out there again and then you get another but. I was thinking today, just how many buts are my willing to take though before I completely crumble. I think for me, it's easier to know ok you like me enough to chill with me, and I have you as my almost, but atleast I am not gonna be hurt more (which is a total lie). I don't want to b just a but, I want way more but, I am not gonna go out there and risk getting hurt way more when we already got this groove going on. It's definitely working for you, and I am very good at pretending it's working for me as well so win and almost win situation right? NO!!!!! Today, I am choosing not to be no one's but. The way I see it is, if you really like me and think I am so amazing like you just said before that but hit me, then you should be able to make me your for real girlfriend or be willing to buy the damn ring and make me your for real wife. I choose not to settle in the gray area, and I sure as hell ain't giving you the milk, when you haven't put in the work/sweat to milk that cow. Why put in full time work, and only get part time benefits?

What is this about......?

MondayMarch 30, 2015

So I recently feel like I kind of came to a point where I had to mentally communication with myself. It was one of those, what are we doing here moment. Anyway I have decided to start some repairs,  it's going to be mentally,  physically and emotionally.  I felt I would document my change,  for one it could be my own personal journal to keep myself on track but, secondly I am a strong believer that sometimes there are people out there dealing with a hurdle you just crossed. So my hope is this can not only be my own outlet,  but help someone else out there.
can't wait to start this journey with you!
